Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is located on the mainland, 13 km from the island of Venice. This creates a unique transfer situation: you can reach the Piazzale Roma (the gateway to the historic city) by road, but you cannot drive onto Venice island itself. From Piazzale Roma, you board a water taxi, water bus (vaporetto), or hotel boat to reach your accommodation.
